4 Easy and Delicious Breakfast Ideas

Breakfast can be one of the most difficult meals to decide in your day, at least that’s how I usually feel. I don't tend to be hungry in the morning, but I push myself to eat breakfast to kick-start my day. Will I go for a plain option like cereal or some buttered toast? Or should I take my time and create a healthy and delicious breakfast that will make me start my day with a huge smile on my face? I’ll go for the latter! These 4 healthy and delicious breakfast recipes will be guaranteed to make your mornings better!

Spicy Avocado Toast

My personal favourite 😍!! Avocado toast with a twist.

What you’ll need:

  • Wholemeal bread - if you can find one with seeds, even better!
  • 1 whole avocado
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/2 lime
  • Chilli oil and a pinch of chilli flakes (Optional - can you handle a little spice? Then go for it!)
  • Salt & pepper to season

How to

Toast two slices of bread in a pan or toaster. Cut your avocado in half, remove the pit and dice it still inside its skin. Scoop out both halves and put them in a bowl. Finely chop the red onion and add it in as well. Then, squeeze in the juice of half a lime. Use a fork to mash the avocado, lime and onion together. Spread the avocado mixture onto your toasted slices and if you can handle some heat, drizzle the chilli oil and sprinkle the flakes on top. Enjoy your avo toast, girl!

Healthy Strawberry Shake

This strawberry smoothie is super easy to make, and it’s incredibly delicious. What more could you want?

Optional; add some oats or a mixture of nuts to make the shake more filling.

How to

Add 3 scoops of your strawberry meal replacement shake and 250 ml of milk into a blender. Add a handful of fresh or frozen fruit and, if you'd like to make it even more filling, some oats or nuts. Blend for 30 seconds to a minute and pour into a glass. That’s it, easy peasy!

The Ultimate Breakfast Cracker

I probably eat this 3 to 4 times a week. Best combination ever! I’ll tell you what you need, girl 💁.

  • 2-3 crackers; depending on how hungry you are. Any cracker works, but I prefer mine wholegrain
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 red onion
  • Roast chicken breast slices (from the packet, not ones you have to cook first 😉)
  • Rocket
  • Chilli oil & chilli flakes (optional; if you like it spicy🌶)
  • Salt & pepper to season

How to

Cut your onion in half and use one half to cut it in rings. Then cut your avocado in half, remove the pit, cut in thin slices and scoop out with a spoon. Lay down two to three crackers and start layering your ingredients:

First, add one to two slices of chicken fillet per cracker. Then, add your avocado slices, drizzle some lemon juice and sprinkle salt & pepper. Now is the time to add the chilli oil and flakes, if you like it spicy! Add as much red onion as you want and finish with rocket. Voila, the ultimate breakfast cracker!

Healthy Protein Pancakes with Lemon Juice and Honey

I know what you probably thought when you read pancakes - that’s not healthy?! Well, guess what? These pancakes are actually healthy! Cute Nutrition’s Donut Flavoured Protein Pancakes are not only delicious, but they're also a fantastic way to increase your protein intake!

  • 4 scoops of the donut flavoured protein pancake 🍩 
  • 100ml of water
  • A shaker
  • Lemon juice and honey for toppings
  • A bit of coconut oil to grease the pan

How to

Add 60g (four scoops) to 100ml water or milk. Mix the batter in a shaker to create a smooth mixture in no time. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of coconut oil. Then add half of the batter to the pan and cook until it starts to bubble. Now it's time to flip it! Leave on the other side for 30 seconds more and serve. Repeat with the other half of your batter, then drizzle some honey and lemon juice on top, and you’re all done!

*(60g makes 2 pancakes).
