5 Easy Ways to Crush Your Cravings

I’m sure that most of you set yourself some goals and resolutions to start 2021 with. Perhaps loose some weight, focus on yourself, become a better planner or work harder and smarter. The first resolution, to loose weight, is one of my personal goals. I want to become a healthier version of myself, no more waiting around. Exercise is not my biggest obstacle in achieving this goal, it’s food. Specifically; cravings. I can be on track for a few weeks and suddenly mid-day or late-night cravings happen. Let me tell you, I will completely loose track of my progress and indulge myself in any sweet or savoury junk I can find.

Don’t get me wrong, you can treat yourself to something less-healthy sometimes. But these cravings appear too often in my case. Recognizable? Well, then these tips are perfect for you. Here are 5 easy ways that helped me stop my cravings.

  1. Chug a glass of water

Did you know that whenever you start feeling ‘hungry’ it’s most of the time your body telling you that it needs water. I did not know this either and oh boy has it been a life saver. Whenever I start feeling hungry and notice that certain cravings pop up, I chug an entire glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If I’m still hungry after 20 minutes, I actually need to eat some food. I’ll have some fruit or vegetables rather than junk food.

Most of the time I’m not feeling hungry after chugging my glass of water and waiting 20 minutes. Voila, your cravings have been crushed!

  1. Brush your teeth

Brushing your teeth works quite well in reducing crushing for some people. It tricks your brain into thinking you’ve had your meals and also, let’s be honest; I’m not a huge fan of eating after brushing my teeth. The taste just isn’t all that great.

  1. Stash healthy snacks

By stashing healthy snacks in advance, you’ll be much more likely to actually grab something healthy over something unhealthy. If you start getting cravings and you need to head to the shop to actually buy something, will you go for fruit and veggies or sweets and salty treats? If you choose fruit and veggies, good for you! But I personally tend to grab the crisps or chocolate instead of the good and healthy stuff. I make sure to always have some healthy snacks on hand just in case. Unsalted nuts, fruit, veggies like carrots and cucumber, lentil crisps etc.

  1. Don’t buy junk

This tip kind of accompanies tip number 3. It’s the same principle; stash healthy snacks, avoid stashing junk. You’ll be so much more likely to grab the unhealthy snacks and feed your cravings if you have easy access to it. So no to buying unhealthy snacks. If you do want to treat yourself once in a while that’s completely fine. Just head to the store and get some when it’s time!

  1. Supplements

The last but definitely not least tip in crushing your cravings; supplements. There are a ton of different weight loss supplements out there. One of my personal favourites is the craving crusher supplement. Specifically Glucomannan & Chromium Picolinate capsules. These handy little things are designed to support the bowel function and regulate blood sugar. In easy language; they help suppress appetite, hunger (when you’ve already had your meals) and reduce overeating.

You only need one capsule a day to help crush those cravings.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading my 5 ways to help you stop your cravings. Let us know if these tips helped you cutie!
